A brief moment of each day.

3/365 Future Food

The milkweed fluff that breaks free of the pod litters our yard this time of year…as well as the hillside in the park across the street. It’s a low maintenance park area, meaning it theoretically only gets mowed twice a year, making it an ideal spot for some flowering pollinator foodstuffs to sprout. In practice, the mowing is not as predictable or infrequent as promised, but I’m working on that. Someday, perhaps these windborne seeds will find a home there and feed a few more of our pollinating friends.
